My first attempt...

I am using my husband as a guinea pig for the first one. Cold lentil salad with balsamic and a tomato, a few cucumber slices, raw broccoli (was gonna steam it but hubby likes it better raw), rice with toasted sesame seeds and celery-carrot flowers, a pan-seared gulf coast shripy, some fresh fruit on a bed of spinach and a baby-bell cheese. I ordered some cute little sauce squeezers but they're not here yet. I can't give soy sauce to hubby anyway because he's gluten-free, so I flavored the rice with vinegar, salt, and sugar like I do for sushi. This was fun. I would do some for the kiddos to take to school too, but I'm afraid they'd be wrecked before they get to lunch. Any suggestions on that?

One more for today

I went ahead and did some for my kids. I made them heavy on the fresh so I could fill them up without worry.
I made this X2. Pretty self-explanatory. Melons, grapes, strawberries, sugar snap peas, carrot chips, rice flowers,
a bit of ham and cheese, and a taste of sweet. I don't expect my eldest to touch the kale or yellow pepper but my
six year old probably will. I think they're going to eat well tomorrow. This beats PB&J by a mile. :)

(no subject)

I haven't posted a bento in awhile, but that's because I lost my only bento box :(
So, I snagged my dad's card and ordered a cheap, but cute one online from ichibankanusa.com.
I'm super duper excited and can't wait for it to come in.

And I was just wondering if anyone else doesn't feel right making a bento without a bento box?
