Getting into trouble

(no subject)

I went on a small car trip yesterday, and since it's Passover I needed to pack food for the trip. I figured I might as well do it bento-style!

Photobucket

Along the left side of the Hello Kitty box are two Passover rolls - one with Sunbutter and one with cheese. Top right is Passover "Rocky Road" cookies, and bottom right is a small container of haroset (a blend of apples, walnuts, and sweet wine). I threw in one of my daughter's toddler spoons (perfect bento size!) and added a pear and we were off!

It's not the most beautiful bento, but I was glad to have it with me. Happy Passover! ;)

Easter bento

My easter bento is significantly less festive, but that can probably be attributed to my lack of enthusiasm for easter woo.

cuuuuucumber, mochi cake thinggy, easter egg with sweets inside, shrimp scampi leftovers, the carrot has ranch dressing, and that's all on rice.

Onigiri Question

Hi! I've been lurking for a while and have been very inspired by the bentos I see here. I've been trying to make my own and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I had one question about onigiri. Is there a way to make it the night before and still have it taste fresh for lunch the next day? When I do that, it tastes stale.

I promise I won't ask any more questions.

Much thanks!
