Fly Away

Long time lurker, first time poster

Hopefully the picture works in this post. Fear of Flickr and the internet have been keeping me from actually contributing to this community.

Sandwich with goat's cheese, basil, cherry tomatoes and green onion, leftover teriyaki chicken with green beans, and a flourless chocolate cake. I need to learn some trick to not smushing the tomatoes when I cut them.

496: ham rollups

Sandwich for Muffin today, also with meatballs, veg assortment, Boursin cheese and crackers, and applesauce in the hippo. I'm working this week without my usual meal plan, so lots of "winging it" at the last minute and not much cuteness.

Yesterday Muffin had onigiri with mix in flavoring, veggies, barbecued pork, egg sliver and grapes.

I found those spiral-shaped rice noodles in an Asian supermarket and just had to try them...
Rice pasta with dry peanut/carrot sauce, zucchini quiche Lorraine, lettuce, cherry tomato and a mint.
The ratios are probably way off in this one but I felt like a bigger bento today. I was quite hungry after coming home from class yesterday...

A Light Tuesday Lunch

I was surprised when I added up the points for my bento today. I usually try to keep my lunches between 5 and 6 points, but then I realized that my daily points allowance just dropped to 19, so I guess a smaller points lunch is in order. We'll see how much it fills me up, though. My bento comes to 3.5 points.

This bento contains:
1 cup Ginger Sesame Cabbage Salad (1 point)
1/2 filet of Ginger-Wasabi Glazed Talapia (2 points)
1/4 serving of Beet & Orange Salad (.5 points)
1/2 cup green beans with garlic and soy sauce (0 points)

I guess I have to find a better time to take my pictures. So sorry for this one; it's just awful. Food was good though!

Bottom Tier: Sweet Cornbread, Baked Apples, 2 Cherry Tomatoes, Salad

Most of this came from Boston Market. The salad was from a place called Bahama Breeze. Good stuff all.

Lunch Box 628: Watchful Rice

Today's lunch starts with iridori, which is kind of like chicken stew, but it contains bamboo and konnyaku and other neat stuff. For this bento I packed just the munchable stuff; I'll use the broth left behind for couscous. Then I have rice with ume koume, which is something like umeboshi but hard instead of mushy, and edamame.

Woo, finally hit 20 :-) Again, its just leftovers, but I jazzed it up a bit.

Top: Pita strips, baby carrots, and a blend of artichoke and sun-dried tomato hummus garnished with a bit of parsley.
Bottom: Chicken schawarma with bell pepper and parsley over rice.
On the Side: 7Up, small container of strawberries, blueberries and banana slices.

BTW, the whole thing looks a bit yellow because I took the photo at night.

Finally I can bento!

I haven't been able to make bentos for aaaaages because I was in Denmark helping my sister for a month and a half. Now that I'm home...I've been sick. So yeah. I did manage two though!

February 5th

Box on the left: peanut butter and chick pea stew, roasted vegetables.
Top box on right: Babybell, tortillas with cream cheese and salsa sauce, lettuce for decoration (and eating).

February 10th
