Meatballs, mushrooms, carrots, red pepper, and lotus root were cooked in mirin and sweetened soy sauce. The tamagoyaki sandwiches are from this recipe: Tamagoyaki Sandwich
- really tasty!

Thanks! I've been browsing past posts on this community and found them very inspiring. I finally got some rice and egg molds to liven up my lunches. It's edible crafting.

If I could reach through and pull that food through the picture, I'd be having that for lunch. That looks really good :)

How adorable! What is lotus root like? I see it once in a while, but have never tried it.

I really like it. I'd describe it as a mix between a potato and water chestnut. Especially tasty dipped in an egg white and cornstarch batter and fried in oil then seasoned with salt/spices. You might find it on the menu of some local Asian restaurants. I have a better picture of it in my leftovers today.

It is a good way to motivate your creativity while designing a compact but satisfying lunch. It's fun to see pictures of the results, too!
