I TRUST SEVERUS SNAPE ([info]trekkiegrrrl) wrote in [info]bentolunch,

Bento # 673

Back with the countdown. My kid has a "work on your own" week at school meaning she can work from home if she wants to so she stayed home for a couple of days and then there was no need for bento.

But she said she wanted to go tomorrow, so I had to hurry a bento from whatever we had in the freezer and fridge...

Bento # 673
Bento # 673
Sandwiches with chicken/curry salad, adorned with cucumber and bell pepper. Fish/tofu "gift" Onigiri-snowman with tuna, carrot, bell pepper and nori. Sausage flowers.

^_^ It's such a GOOD idea, too. I dunno why I hadn't thought of it myself. Glad you liked him ^_^

The snowman is adorable! That's a quick and easy idea, hopefully I get a chance to try it out <3

Thanks! And yes, it's so easy to make, just onigiri with nori and carrot, cant be much easier than this ^_^

I like easy stuff! I don't mind when a bento takes a long time to make, but sometimes it's nice to be able to make one in less than an hour *L*

omg, that's so cute!
I absolutely love the snowman especially because it's rather simple.
The sausage flowers are really cute (tried some crabs today as well). One question: Do you just cook them or do you fry them? (They look fried?).

Thanks :) And yes, it's simple which is great for saving time :)

And the sausages.. are actually steamed in the microwave this time.. I think I gave them a little too much which is why they look fried *L* - but the fish/tofu thing is meant to be steamed in the microwave as per the instructions on the pack, so I just put those (frozen) sausage bits in as well, and sat them on the split end, hoping the combination of steam and gravity would pull them apart - which it did ^_^

Sometimes I fry them, if I'm frying something else anyway. Sometimes I cook them if I'm cooking ...ect.. and sometimes I pput them in a cup of water and boil them in the microwave. This was the first time I steamed them :)

Work on your own week sounds awesome. I wish my school had done something like that!

yea it's a good thing if you have the discipline to actually get the work done without a teacher breathing down your neck *L*

Luckily my kid has that discipline, whereas I, at the same age, would probably have just6 procrastinated for a week and hobbled something together on Sunday night *L*
