I keep meaning to try a tonkatsu with sauce - but i have a question. When you pack fried things (like this or tempura, etc) how do you keep them from going soggy and getting vaguely nasty? I've been avoiding fried foods because I worry about that, but so many people seem to include them that I decided there must be something I'm missing.
I try to let them cool down before frying. Also, I think it depends on what batter you use. For something breaded like this, a quick nuke in the microwave does wonders. But something with a light batter like tempura, I've never tried since I fear it'll get soggy. Personally, I don't think tonkatsu gets nasty even when it's soggy. But then, that just might be me ^_^;;
Now that you mentioned it, it does look like eggs and cheese. Or even broken up Maja mais. ^_^;; But really, I can't help but sing praises to this mango pudding.
Lol, Candy AND soap? I do hope they didn't pack them together. I still remember drinking a batch of Dove Soap-flavored Iced tea. And Tonkatsu? As long as your oil's hot enough, I don't think it would be too hard. You may want to use a pair of tongs instead of a spatula / pancake turner so you won't have to worry about the oil splattering on you. But breaded food is generally less splattery so no need to fear.

Hehe, well, as long as it turned out appetizing, even if it made you crave for different food, I'd say it was a success, hwehwe!October 31 2006, 01:13:07 UTC 5 years ago
