Fried chicken Bento

I decided to start controlling portions a little better so I dont eat as much.

I purchased a new bento box, and its small! I think this one is for kids...

Japanese style fried chicken, rice, pickles, asparagus, and tomato.

Since people seem to like making the octopus thinggies out of sausages, I saw this in a book and took a pic of it:

Re: i have a kids bento too!

was it enough to fill you up?

I love my bento, but they only keep me full for about 3 hours.

then again, I think one of the medications I am on is affecting my appetite. I feel the need to eat every 2-3 hours (I've never been much of a snack person until lately). I've tried to start carrying around lots of healthy snacks as a compromise..fruit, luna bars, cut up veggies and hummus..

Eh, it's not really about how much you eat but how much you eat and how you spread it through the day. My boyfriend lost about 130lbs over the last two years controlling portion size and eating more often throughout the day. Pretty nifty.

Yah thats what I want to do. I usually skip breakfast and have a huge lunch... I guess I just need to get used to spreading the amount of food I eat throughout the day. 130lbs is impressive though!

Yeah... he's gone from about 300lbs to just under 170 today. And he's fit too. Amazing how much he's changed since he and I first met!

Skipping breakfast is badbad. That's what jump starts your metabolism in the mornings. I used to have a bad habit of doing it, but ever since I started eating breakfast I've noticed I have a lot more energy throughout the day.

from what I've read of health/fitness magazines, skipping breakfast is one of the worst things you can do... :/ try to eat some carb/protein/fruit in the morning. good luck!

It was a book about bentos and towards the end it had some tips on making "cute" bento presentations. Ill take pics of some of the other pages if people are interested.
